How Nylok Screws Prevent Loosening

The secret? A unique plastic coating applied to the threads using a proprietary process. How Nylok Coating Works

The plastic covers at least 90° of the thread (options: 90°, 180°, or full 360°). It spans 4+ threads, with the first 3 threads near the head left uncoated for easier starting. The coating can be on external or internal threads, depending on the application.
