The special thread form of PT is created by displacing and forming the material through extrusion during the thread-forming process. Compared to standard 60° thread angle threads, this screw features smaller thread angles of 20° and 30°. The reduced thread angles generate only minimal radial stress, allowing for the design of thinner outer walls. Even with reinforced thermoplastics, the thread surface ensures optimal material flow for molding the plastic. The pitch of PT screws is engineered to balance the maximum stress tolerance of the fastened components with the lower surface pressure in the plastic. This design enables very high thread engagement even with minimal installation depth.
