What is a Hex Flange Nut?

A Hex Flange Nut is a nut that resembles a traditional hexagonal nut in shape, but with an integrated flange at the bottom. This structure significantly improves anti-loosening performance, increases the stress-bearing area, and reduces damage to the workpiece surface, making it a functional fastener that conventional nuts cannot replace.

 

Product Features

1. Integrated Flange Structure

Increased Stress-Bearing Area: The flange diameter is larger than the opposite dimensions of the nut, significantly increasing the contact area with the workpiece and resulting in more even load distribution.

Prevents Indentation on Workpiece Surface: Traditional nuts may leave indentations or scratches after tightening. The flange base reduces localized stress concentration, protecting surface coatings or substrates.

Replaces Washers: Reduces installation steps, lowers labor costs, and improves production line efficiency.

Prevents nuts from sinking into soft materials: Particularly suitable for soft workpieces such as wood, plastic, and thin sheets.

Suitable applications: Metal structure assembly, automotive chassis, impact and vibration equipment, etc.

 

2. Anti-slip design with serrated teeth:

The serrations are arranged radially outwards: When tightening, they "bite" into the workpiece surface, creating a mechanical locking effect. Stable locking force is maintained even under continuous strong vibration conditions.

Prevents nut reverse rotation: The toothed structure has an anti-reverse function, reducing the risk of loosening by approximately 3–5 times.

Increased coefficient of friction: Reduces the probability of nut loosening, especially suitable for: High-frequency vibration equipment, automotive suspension systems, motorcycle engine housings, and transmission and conveying machinery.

Longer service life: Less prone to fatigue failure than spring washers, suitable for long-term use.

 

3. High-Strength Structure and Material Selection

304 Suitable for most outdoor equipment

4. Multiple Surface Treatments

Different corrosion resistance levels are available depending on the environment.

Common Surface Treatments:

Zinc Plating (White Zinc / Color Zinc / Blue-White Zinc)

- Moderate rust resistance, suitable for indoor equipment.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG)

- Zinc layer thickness up to 40–80μm

- Strong corrosion resistance, used for outdoor/building structures.

Dacromet

- Superior salt spray resistance, up to 800–1200 hours

- Commonly used coating in the automotive industry.

Black Oxidation

- Moderate corrosion resistance, but strong mechanical appearance.

Nickel Plating, Chromium Plating

- Used for precision equipment or applications with high aesthetic requirements.
